Cryotherapy is safe, so normally sessions are scheduled once daily. However, for some conditions it is possible to have sessions twice per day, with at least a five- or six-hour interval between the sessions.
All Cryomed’s customers get access to a free online cryotherapy course which describes the best protocols for various applications. However, here are some general suggestions on the frequency of cryotherapy treatments for most common applications:
- Recovery for gym and fitness goers: 2-3 cryotherapy sessions per week.
- Recovery for professional athletes: 2-5 cryotherapy sessions per week.
- Post-injury and post-surgery recovery, chronic conditions: 5-7 cryosauna sessions per week, once or twice daily.
- For weight loss: 2-5 cryotherapy treatments per week.
In whole-body cryotherapy, consistency is the key. Research shows that for stable results, you need a set of at least five sessions, ideally ten to twenty. For chronic health conditions, it’s 20 to 30 sessions minimum.
