Localized cryotherapy sessions don’t last long – it takes about 5-8 minutes with a working temperature of -130°C to achieve and maintain the desired skin-surface temperature. This time could increase depending on the size of the area that is needed to be affected by the cold.
Compared to whole body cryotherapy sessions that last about 2-3 minutes, localized cryotherapy procedures take much more time. This is due to the fact that in the cryosauna the temperature is about -180°C and the cold affects all the body. At the same time, local cryotherapy sessions are more beneficial for people who are afraid of closed spaces (that’s why they can’t use cryosauna) or have reduced mobility.
As for the frequency of local cryo sessions, it is recommended to have them 1-3 times a week.
Despite the fact that most of the clients begin to feel the benefits of localized cryotherapy immediately, to keep the benefits occurring they need to have a course of cryo sessions lasting several weeks (depending on your needs).
